About Us

Whitefield's Prayer is written by common, mostly obscure, fairly anonymous men. Although we admire quite a few of the "celebrity pastors," and conference speakers in the Reformed world, we are not so blessed/cursed as to be given the responsibility of fame! By and large, we labor day by day in small churches and classrooms. We are blessed and called to be ordinary pastors and teachers.

Matthew Everhard (MA., Ashland Theological Seminary) is the General Editor of Whitefield's Prayer. He is the Senior Pastor of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brooksville, Florida. He is also a doctoral student at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando Florida. He is the author of some books. You can contact Matt directly (especially if you are interested in writing for Whitefield's Prayer) through Facebook or direct message on Twitter.

JT Holderman (Th.M. in Homiletics, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; M.Div., Princeton Theological Seminary) is the Associate Pastor of  Bellevue EPC in Gap, Pennsylvania. He is an avid mountain biker.   His emphases in ministry are preaching and teaching, small group ministry, and missions. He enjoys mountain biking and hiking with his wife Kimberly. Follow JT on twitter @JTholderman.

Wilfred A. Bellamy (Ph.D., organizational leadership) is the stated supply pastor of Thomson Presbyterian Church in Thomson, GA. Previously, Dr. Bellamy has held pastorates in local churches in the United States as well as ministering as a missionary to Nigeria. He also served his denomination (ARP) as the former Coordinator of the General Synod of the Associate Presbyterian Church.

Robert Barnes (M. Div., Reformed Theological Seminary) is the Senior Pastor of Dayspring Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Springhill, Florida. He helped to edit the ESV Study Bible and has written and edited extensively for Ligonier Ministries.

John Cleveland (BA, Trinity College) is the Director of Youth Ministry at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brooksville, Florida.

Pete Garbacki (BA, Southeastern University) is a missionary working for Time for Truth ministries in Spring Hill, Florida as well as Mission Brasil.

Lee Hutchings (M.Div. Reformed Theological Seminary) is the Associate Pastor of Discipleship at Highlands Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Ridgeland, MS.

Dr. Jon Marko (Ph.D., Calvin Theological Seminary; M. Div., Ashland Theological Seminary) is Visiting Professor of Theology and Philosophy at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and an elder at Forrest Hills Baptist Church.

Drew Taylor is a third year M.Div student at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando Florida. He is on staff at Willow Creek Church (PCA) in Orlando, Fl.

Russell Taylor (Troy University) is the Pastor of Christ's Fellowship of Lake City Florida.

Do you want to write for one of the hottest, fastest growing blogs on the internet today? Well then you will have to look elsewhere. We can't help you with that.

But if you would like to write for our modest blog, we would like to hear from you!

Here's what we are looking for:
  1. Are you a man in a position of Christian leadership? Pastor, Bible teacher, missionary, or professor? We write from the unique perspective of men serving Christ and His church in some capacity of servant-leadership.
  2. Do you love both Christ and His Church? If you have a passion for the Lord of Glory and see writing as an extension of your worship and one of the gifts God has given to you to proclaim the Gospel, you may be our man.
  3. Are you willing to write blog posts on Scripture, theology, history, culture, or humor? We have a pretty broad subject range. Your pieces of 500 to 1000 words may help us to grow. We hope our writers could contribute one post per week, since we are all busy in ministry.
  4. Do you comport well with our theological convictions? Although we are a team of various denominations, all of our writers are Reformed in soteriology (Calvinistic), complementarian, conservative, and confessional.

If you said "yes" to the above questions, we would love to talk to you about joining our team.

Contact our General Editor to provide a writing sample today!
