The Homosexual War on Marriage: Equipping Yourself for Battle

Martin Luther said, "If I profess with the loudest voice and the clearest exposition, every portion of the Word of God, except that portion that the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing him. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battlefield beside, is mere flight and disgrace, if he flinches at that point."
At this moment the world and the devil are attacking the biblical view of marriage like never before in history. This is not the time for the soldiers of the cross to be tolerant or patient with error. This is the time for you to prove your loyalty to the Lord Jesus Christ. While we are called to be gracious to all men and women with whom we disagree, we simply cannot give quarter to the homosexual agenda in the least. The homosexual movement, if not stopped, will destroy our culture and bring the wrath of God upon our communities. Don't let the poster child view of homosexuality fool you. Friendly, articulate television personalities or loved ones who seem to have embraced this lifestyle to apparently no harm, are not the true face of this movement. The enemy is a deceiver and appears to be an angel of light. It may be difficult to balance the call to defend the faith and preach the gospel with the call to love our neighbor and to season our words with salt, but we simply must find a way to do the difficult. This is where the battle is raging. Go to the front line, and join the battle.
One of the easiest ways to minister to the lost is by graciously giving them something to read. If you sincerely love them and treat them with grace, they may receive it with your best intentions in mind. They may be offended by the truth and it may even cost you a friend, but you must remember that your Saviour went to glory by way of a cross and has called you to do the same. Dr. R. Albert Mohler has edited a response to Matthew Vines' book, "God and the Gay Christian," that has been made available free as an eBook. I would encourage you to read both this book and Matthew Vines' book. The dialog surrounding this issue is going to continue to intensify and you need to be equipped with a thorough understanding of the issues. This is not time for intellectual apathy. Sharpen your swords!
